BYU freshman Jane Hedengren reacts after winning her first NCAA title in the women’s 5000 meters at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Fayetteville.
Hedengren dominated the race in 15:00.12, defeating Alabama’s Doris Lemngole and New Mexico’s Pamela Kosgei. She closed the race in spectacular fashion, covering the final 1000 meters in 2:46.24, which equals 13:51 5k pace.
