In this episode of Off the Back Seat: Fan Edition, Manaia Stewart and Ben Hurley pick up Charlie Pomee in the back of a brand-new GWM Cannon Alpha Plug-in Hybrid!
Most Warriors fans dream about pulling on the jersey. Charlie Pomee was actually in the development system to do it, before injuries pushed him toward a microphone and a career as one of New Zealand's most recognisable entertainers. This is the great Warriors what-if.
The singer and FLAVA host takes it back to the 1995 debut against the Broncos with his dad, fireworks, confetti, Dean Bell leading them out, through to growing up playing alongside childhood mate Manu Vatuvei, both chasing the NRL dream. Plus getting mistaken for a current Warrior by Wendell Sailor at Magic Round, the family game-day ritual, and the moving story of how former Warriors players helped change his life with a scholarship. Football, family and South Auckland, and the perfect episode to finish on.
