Italy and Turkey clashed in the 2025 Women’s World Championship Final, and what followed was an unforgettable 5-set war that kept fans on the edge of their seats from the first serve to the last point.

Italy came out strong, taking the opening set 25–23, showing composure under pressure. But Turkey responded with pure dominance, crushing the second set 25–13 and sending a clear message — they were ready to make history.

The third set turned into a battle of nerves, with both teams pushing beyond their limits. In the most crucial moments, it was Paola Egonu who stepped up, delivering clutch points to secure a tight 26–24 win for Italy.

But Turkey refused to give up.

Led by the unstoppable Melissa Vargas, who delivered an incredible 33-point performance, Turkey stormed back in the fourth set (25–19), forcing a decisive fifth set and bringing the dream of a historic title closer than ever.

Under immense pressure, Italy showed why they are champions. With perfect organization led by setter Alessia Orro and unstoppable attacks from Egonu, Italy dominated the tie-break 15–8, closing the match in style and claiming the World Championship title.
