Running back Nate Sheppard had an impressive freshman season for the Duke Blue Devils in 2025 and looks poised to have an outstanding 2026. With him running for 1,132 years in his freshman campaign, he only had 15 total carries in the first three weeks, and by the end of the year, he was averaging 22 carries a game over the final four games of the season. He is one of three returning running backs in the ACC who ran for 10 or more touchdowns in 2025. He will be the undisputed top running back heading into the season, and after a change at quarterback and a change in the receiver room, Sheppard should be the workhorse for the offense in 2026. ACCDN analyst Wes Bryant takes you in-depth as he tells you what makes Nate Sheppard one of the ACC's biggest "Returning Attractions" in 2026.
