In a battle of the titans, Zalan Sarkany and Ahmed Jaouadi were neck-and-neck at the 1,600 mark of the 1,650, but you wouldn't have known it at the finish. Jaouadi blasted a monster 22.7 final 50 to take the win, breaking his training partner Bobby Finke's NCAA record by over 2 seconds at 14:10.03. After the race, Jaouadi credited Finke for helping him work on his finishing speed in training.
