He Put a $45,000 CAR Inside a Trading Card Pack?!

Alladan Flinn, founder and CEO of Based Trading Cards, joins Ryan Alford on Collector Nation. Based built a Golden Key pack that gives one lucky collector a Dodge Challenger. Alladan breaks down the Experience Box on camera: only 420 serialized boxes exist, each one a 1-in-420 shot at the car, and it's built so breakers slow down and actually enjoy the rip.

Alladan also takes on one of the biggest questions in the hobby: are companies printing too much? He explains why Pokémon prints around a billion packs a year, why the parallel pyramid in sports cards has grown too tall, and why a card numbered /210 with no parallels can be rarer than a /10.

Plus, Alladan shares how his Series 1 hobby box went from $500 retail to more than $20,000, and the story of one box that was traded for a $30,000 Kubota tractor. He also explains how he partnered with RRD, one of the largest printers in the world, and gives a first look at Cardboard Kings, the first full history of trading cards, dropping at the end of the year.
