A first career meeting. Eala arrives after defeating Emerson Jones and Tereza Valentova, while Ruzic has beaten Alina Charaeva and sixth seed Xinyu Wang. We discuss where this quarter-final could be won and lost.

🇬🇷 Maria Sakkari vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich
Sakkari leads their head-to-head 1–0, but Sasnovich has already won four matches in Hong Kong, including qualifying. Can the qualifier keep her run going against the fourth seed?

🇷🇴 Sorana Cîrstea vs Alexandra Shubladze*
We preview a potential first meeting between the top seed and the qualifier who knocked out Liudmila Samsonova before beating Elena Pridankina.

🇹🇷 Zeynep Sönmez vs Claire Liu
Liu won their Wimbledon 2026 encounter. Will the switch from grass to Hong Kong’s outdoor hard courts help Sonmez reverse that result?

*The Cirstea–Shubladze preview assumes Cirstea defeats Mary Stoiana. That result was pending when this preview was prepared.
