In a lively home match, the Red Bulls defeated SV Werder Bremen 2–0, securing their fifth consecutive home win. During the first 45 minutes, our boys clearly dominated the game. The biggest chance came in the 40th minute for Christoph Baumgartner: just five metres in front of Werder goalkeeper Mio Backhaus, he found himself completely unmarked, but his volley went straight at the keeper, who gathered the ball safely. After the break, the game turned into an open contest. Bremen pushed forward with more intent, but RBL continued to look dangerous. In the 63rd minute, it was Assan Ouédraogo who finally broke the deadlock, firing spectacularly into the top corner from about eighteen metres out.
