A total of 60 athletes, including 34 women and 26 men, represented Team Chinese Taipei at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. At the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Chinese Taipei won 2 gold medals and 5 bronze medals. One of their outstanding achievements in 2024 was the gold medal in the men's badminton doubles: Yang and Chi-Lin's success at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris came three years after the duo defeated the reigning 2018 world champions, Li Junhui and Liu Yuchen from China, at the postponed 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. This made them the first unseeded pair to win Olympic gold, while also securing their country's first gold medal in badminton.
This summer, the pair made history again in Paris by defending their title and becoming the first men's doubles team to win two consecutive Olympic badminton doubles titles.
After competing in the 2024 Taipei Open in early September, Lee Yang broke down in tears during a farewell ceremony at the Taipei Arena, officially ending his illustrious badminton career.
