A PGA Tour practice round doesn't look anything like tournament golf, and that's exactly the point. Before a single shot counts, the world's best players use early-week rounds to gather information, experiment, solve problems and build a game plan. In this episode of our new series “Practice Round,” Golf Digest's Shane Bacon walks inside the ropes with Ludvig Åberg early in the week at a recent event to reveal a side of Tour golf fans rarely get to see. We follow Ludvig as he and his caddie read putts, experiment with different lies, discuss strategy and sometimes skip shots altogether, all in pursuit of learning the course rather than posting a score. We also get to hear directly from Ludvig as he explains how a successful practice round shapes everything that follows.
