A buyout of an Alpine stake has loomed as Christian Horner's most realistic possibility of getting back into F1 - but now he has a very curious, and very serious, new option to explore.
Horner has been in talks with Chinese car giant BYD over a potential F1 entry, and the interest is understood to be significant.
But would F1 even allow a 12th team any time soon - considering how arduous the Cadillac process appeared to be - and would an electric/hybrid manufacturer fit in with a relatively de-electrified F1?
