One of the biggest debates among Heat fans right now is whether Bam Adebayo and Giannis Antetokounmpo would actually fit together if Miami manages to pull off a blockbuster trade.
A lot of fans believe the pairing wouldn’t work because neither player is known as an elite volume three-point shooter. But in today’s episode, I explain why I completely disagree with that argument and why a Bam-Giannis frontcourt could become one of the most dominant combinations in the entire NBA.
Championship teams are built on defense, rebounding, toughness, versatility, and star power. Bam Adebayo and Giannis Antetokounmpo would immediately give the Miami Heat arguably the best defensive duo in basketball while also creating major matchup problems for opponents on both ends of the floor.
I also discuss how Bam has continued to improve his perimeter shooting over the past few seasons and why Giannis’ ability to attack the paint could actually create more open opportunities for Bam to stretch the floor. In addition, Miami can easily continue surrounding those two stars with shooters.
Norman Powell shot over 40% from three last season. Andrew Wiggins also finished above 40% from deep. Kasparas Jakučionis projects as another strong floor spacer, and the Heat still have free agency, trade exceptions, and roster flexibility to add additional shooting around their core.
