Swimrun 201: 5 Tips for After Your A-Race
You just crossed the finish line of your biggest race of the season. Now what? We break down exactly what we do in the days and weeks after an A-race, straight from our own playbook after the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Championship.
This is another installment in our ad hoc Swimrun 201 series, where we get into the more advanced side of the sport. Think of this one as an elective. Not required reading, but genuinely useful once you have a big race behind you and you are not sure what comes next.
We walk through our top five tips for the post-race period: giving yourself 48 hours to celebrate or process before moving on, showing real gratitude to the people who made your race possible, doing an honest assessment of how the race actually went, turning that assessment into a short and focused action plan, and signing up for your next swimrun.
We also touch on our own experience at the World Champs, why building swim confidence changes the entire way a big water day feels, and what is next on our calendar with Swimrun Cape Cod, ÖTILLÖ Colorado, and ÖTILLÖ Austin.
