TCU Football 2026 Preview: How High Can Jaden Craig Take The Horned Frogs?

TCU won nine games last season and wasn’t far away from something bigger, but the Horned Frogs are making a major change at quarterback after Josh Hoover transferred to Indiana. Harvard transfer Jaden Craig now takes over in a new offense under Gordon Sammis, with more emphasis on the run game, tighter formations and making life easier on the quarterback. Craig has the experience and physical tools, but jumping from the Ivy League to the Big 12 makes him one of the biggest wild cards on the roster.

TCU also needs to improve a pass defense that was routinely exposed last season and generate more pressure up front, but there are reasons to believe the Horned Frogs could be better in several of the boring areas that decide close games. With a deeper offensive line, Jeremy Payne in the backfield and Andy Avalos returning as defensive coordinator, TCU might not be that far from turning another eight- or nine-win season into something more. .
