At the Ft Lauderdale Open, Ilya Kharun took on a parred down schedule, swimming in the 50-100 Free and Fly. The ASU product had success there, winning the 50 (22.9) and 100 (50.8) Fly while placing 4th in the 50 free (22.3) and 10th in the 100 Free (49.49).
Having just returned to training off the back of the NCAA Championships, Kharun now has his sights set on the US Nationals in Irvine, where he plans to swim the 200 Fly in addition to his shorter events. Kharun hopes to put up impressive times in Irvine ahead of being eligible to represent the Stars and Stripes internationally in the fall.
