Paris Olympian Alex Shackell made a long-course splash in her home state, taking the win at the Indianapolis Pro Swim in the 200 Fly last weekend. Shackell swam to a 2:07.3, nearing her PB after coming off a 3-week altitude training camp at the Olympic training center. Shackell said it felt good to get down near her PB once again, giving the feeling that "finally feel like I actually belong again".
Shackell also discussed what her split between training at Carmel Swim Club and Indiana University looks like during the summer, noting that she's spent more time at Carmel, but some of her IU teammates have come down to train with her there as well.
