Jakob Ingebrigtsen returned to competition for the first time in 2026 by winning European 5000m gold in 13:15.29 for his seventh European title, in his first race back from Achilles surgery. Filip Ingebrigtsen, Jakob's older brother and a European 1500m champion himself, was in that same 5000m final at 32 years old.
