HIGHLIGHTS: Sky Defeat Sun at Home in Carrington’s Return, 94-88

The Chicago Sky defeated the Connecticut Sun 94-88 in Wintrust Arena on Thursday, July 30. The Sky are now 10-18 on the season, 2-9 against the Eastern Conference, 6-7 at home and 36-40 against the Sun all time.

In DiJonai Carrington’s Sky debut, Carrington dropped nine points, pulled down three rebounds and blocked a shot in her 17 minutes on the court. Center Kamilla Cardoso led the Sky in scoring with a team-high 26 points, attributed primarily to her fourth-quarter push from the free-throw line. She nailed 10 of her season-high 11 attempts from the charity stripe and cashed an additional 66.7% of her shots from the field.

Rookie phenom Sydney Taylor dropped 14 points and a career-high six assists with a 50% mark from the field in her 30 minutes of play. Guard Natasha Cloud tallied her 13th game this season scoring in double digits, notching 11 points, five assists and two steals.

Chloe Bibby was once again efficient off the bench for the Sky, contributing eight points, two assists, a steal and a block. Jacy Sheldon contributed a key seven points, two rebounds and a steal while shooting 100% from the line in just 14 minutes played.
