Due to CSKA Moscow’s late equaliser against Roma in Russia earlier in the evening, defeat would have left Manuel Pellegrini’s side needing a convincing win in the final group stage game to stand any chance of qualifying for the last 16.

It looked precarious for us until Aguero struck twice late on to grab the three points.
