FC Cincinnati midfielder Evander speaks with the media following the Orange and Blue’s 2-0 road win over D.C. United at Audi Field in Major League Soccer play. Evander scored the opening goal and assisted Tom Barlow on the second as FC Cincinnati earned its second consecutive win over D.C. United.
Evander discusses the urgency FC Cincinnati is playing with late in the regular season as the club pushes to secure a place in the MLS Cup Playoffs. He reflects on the team’s growing confidence after back-to-back wins, his return to the scoresheet and the buildup to Barlow’s goal, including the run from Bryan Ramírez that helped create space for the finish.
Evander also discusses the significance of earning a clean sheet on the road and credits the collective defensive effort. He reflects on the performances of Nick Hagglund, Teenage Hadebe and the back line, as well as goalkeeper Roman Celentano, and explains how a stronger defensive foundation can give FC Cincinnati confidence heading into the final three matches of the MLS regular season.
