Are You Playing the WRONG Golf Ball? (MyGolfSpy 2026 Test)

The 2026 MyGolfSpy golf ball test put 48 balls on a robot. We're not robots — so we pulled some of the same balls and hit them ourselves to see if the numbers hold up for actual humans.
Srixon Z-Star Diamond, Callaway Chrome Tour X, Titleist Velocity, Titleist TruFeel and Srixon Z-Star XV — spin, launch and descent angle on 35-yard pitch shots and 7-irons.

In this video we break down the 2026 MyGolfSpy golf ball test — how the robot testing works, why cycling through dozens of balls exposes manufacturing quality, MyGolfSpy's top picks for high and mid swing speeds, and why driver distance might be the least important chart in the whole test. Then we take it to the launch monitor: the Z-Star Diamond and Chrome Tour X both spun a hair over 6,000 rpm from 35 yards, almost exactly what the robot saw, while the non-urethane Titleist Velocity came in around 3,700. With a 7-iron we look at descent angle vs spin (TruFeel vs Chrome Tour) and show why a Z-Star XV and a Z-Star Diamond are not the same golf ball.
