Volley Technique: Low vs Mid vs High Balls
Tennis

👉 Low volleys: focus on getting low with your legs, and open the strings to the sky as you impact the ball. The lower the ball, and the closer you are to the net, the more the strings have to open
👉 Half volleys: one of the hardest shots in tennis to master if you don’t know what you’re doing. Place the racket head directly behind the ball bounce and simply redirect the ball using your racket as a wall. Don’t do too much with the racket, and guide the ball towards your target
👉 Mid height volleys: these can vary greatly, depending on your court positioning and the incoming speed/spin of the ball. Generally speaking, start with a more neutral racket face and open the strings slightly as you make contact
👉 High volleys: this is where you can now have a very neutral racket angle (facing the net) and you can hit down and through the back of the ball
