North Carolina vs. Clemson Game Preview | 2026 ACC Football

It's the conference opener for two teams with lots of eyeballs on them during the early part of the 2026 season as the Clemson Tigers host the North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday. It will be the 62nd meeting between the two teams and 2nd matchup of big-time coaches Bill Belichick and Dabo Swinney. The Tigers hold onto a 41-19-1 edge in the series, are 20-7 at home and have won the last seven matchups. The Tar Heels are off to a 2-0 start and have shown off primarily on defense, giving up just 13 points so far this year. The Tigers look to freshman Tait Reynolds with hopes that he'll follow in the footsteps of Trevor Lawrence and Deshaun Watson as Clemson quarterbacks who saw great success early on.
