In the first set, the teams were tied for a long time, not allowing each other to get ahead by more than one point. Both teams played well defensively, but they were also cautious and did not take too many risks. Zarechye-Odintsovo had a strong serve. After Kisi's attack, Lokomotiv took the lead at 8:7, and the visitors took a timeout. Lokomotiv wasted their chances due to their own mistakes, which were eight in the final part of the first set. The Moscow region volleyball players played on the block, and Biryukova scored after the defense. Then another block by the guests, a first-tempo attack by Brovkina, and the set was won by the Zarechenki.
The second set turned out to be a complete failure for Lokomotiv. Initially, Andrey Voronkov's team did not allow their opponents to get closer than two points, but then the Kaliningrad attack stalled. Mladenovic continued to score for Zarechye-Odintsovo, her powerful attacks piercing the block. The high-quality reception allowed the guests to consistently and effectively use the first tempo. By the middle of the set, the Moscow region volleyball players were leading 12:7, and they continued to build their lead, winning the set by a two-point margin.
After being knocked out, Lokomotiv didn't fall apart, although there were plenty of mistakes on the part of the hosts. The lead changed hands several times. Brovkina's first-tempo attacks and Eva Pavlovich Mori's successful passes helped the guests maintain a three-point lead for a while. However, towards the end of the set, Aslyamova's accurate shots, Kisa's attacks, and Kiseleva's blocks gave Lokomotiv the upper hand. Zarechye-Odintsovo narrowly escaped with a score of 23:23. However, a set by Elena Gatina and a block attack by Aslyamova gave Lokomotiv the victory in the set.
However, the Kaliningrad team was unable to take the game to a fifth set. Throughout the fourth set, they were in a catch-up position, sometimes losing two or three points and then equalizing the score. However, they were unable to achieve more due to their mistakes. The team from the Moscow region maintained a high level of play, with their reception, attack, and defense being of high quality. After Kisi's attack was blocked and Brovkina's hand was used to score another point, Zarechye-Odintsovo took a 16-12 lead. The hosts were able to catch up with their opponents a little, and they entered the final set two points behind. However, at the crucial moment, the guests earned a match point with a reliable block and a shot by Brovkina, which was converted by Biryukova. The series ended in a draw, and the final match will be played on March 16 in Odintsovo.
