Katie Grimes made noise at the US Nationals in Irvine last week, taking titles in both the 400 IM and 1500 free. After her races, Grimes relayed that she had switched up her training at UVA, upping her volume in a big way. That seems to be working for the 2x Olympian who is headed to Pan Pacs next week. Since she didn't get a chance to swim it at Nationals, Grimes thinks she will be swimming the 800 free in addition to the 400 IM in the pool in Irvine (Aug 12-15). She's also toying with the idea of competing in the open water 10k, which is on Aug 10.
