PGA TOUR Highlights | Valero Texas Open | Round 1 | 2026
Check out all the best shots from the opening round of the 2026 Valero Texas Open, featuring Tony Finau, Jordan Spieth, Tommy Fleetwood and Rickie Fowler, among others. Play was suspended on Thursday due to darkness, and Round 1 will conclude Friday morning.
The 2026 Valero Texas Open marks the final PGA TOUR event before the season’s first major, giving players a chance to fine tune their games or earn a last-minute ticket to Augusta National. TPC San Antonio hosts a strong field, including defending champion Brian Harman, Tommy Fleetwood, Ludvig Åberg, Russell Henley, J.J. Spaun, Hideki Matsuyama, and last week’s winner Gary Woodland. The tournament also plays a key role in the Aon Swing 5, offering players a path into the RBC Heritage, while the winner can claim the final invite to The Masters if not already qualified a scenario that has unfolded three times in the past six Valero Texas Opens. With a mix of past champions, in-form stars, and rookies making their mark, the Valero Texas Open sets up a high stakes week leading into the first major of 2026.
