PREVIEW & PREDICTIONS: Are Boston College’s Inconsistencies DESTINED to Cost Them vs. Virginia Tech?

Boston College faces a defining ACC clash against undefeated Virginia Tech—can the Eagles’ defensive front withstand the Hokies’ dynamic rushing tandem of Jeffrey Overton and Marcellus Hawkins? AJ Black and Mike Sidhly break down the crucial matchups, including Boston College's ability to generate offensive consistency behind quarterback Mason McKenzie and the challenge of containing elite tight end Luke Reynolds, a key to Virginia Tech’s aerial attack. Weather looms large, promising a run-heavy, turnover-prone battle that tests both squads’ adaptability and resilience.

The discussion highlights time of possession, red zone efficiency, and the much-anticipated return of Bo MacCormack as pivotal factors. With both teams’ run defenses under the spotlight and chaos expected amidst wind and rain, strategic coaching decisions could determine the outcome. Will finishing drives and winning the turnover battle be enough for BC to pull off the upset, or will Virginia Tech’s physicality prevail in these hostile conditions?
