Stanford junior Lucy Bell defended her NCAA title in the 200 Breast, dropping the hammer on her competition in the final 50 to get her hands on the wall first. After the race, Bell said she did a lot of positive self-talk behind the blocks, repeating encouraging phrases to herself over and over. This not only gave her confidence to put her best foot forward, but to swim without expectations from herself or others around her.
