The Dallas Stars scored three third period goals to pull away from a scrappy New York Islanders team for a 6-3 win on Sunday at American Airlines Center. The victory extends the Stars current winning streak to five games and they have points in eight of their last nine (7-1-1, 15 pts., 0.833). Dallas never trailed in the game, but for the first two periods the Islanders scratched and clawed to keep it 3-3 after 40 minutes. Wyatt Johnston broke the tie early in the third, Jason Robertson scored his second of the game and Mikko Rantanen tallied his team-leading sixth goal of the season to leave little doubt in the outcome of the game. Tyler Seguin and Justin Hryckowian also scored goals for Dallas, while Matthew Schaefer, Kyle Palmieri and Brayden Schenn all scored for New York. A pair of 22-year-olds, Dylan Hryckowian and Matthew Seminoff, both made their NHL debuts for the Stars, who had to scratch Sam Steel and Radek Faksa due to injury.
