10 Moves to Fix the Mariners | 2026-27 Offseason Preview

The 2026 Mariners went 76-86 and finished with one of the worst defenses in baseball. Here’s my 10-move plan to fix it before Opening Day 2027.

We go through who’s under contract and what they cost, the arbitration class, the prospects who matter (Lazaro Montes, Michael Arroyo and Ryan Sloan), and the free agent market. Then the plan: let J.P. Crawford go, sign Seiya Suzuki to play left, add Mauricio Dubón, Carson Kelly and Gregory Soto, extend Logan Gilbert, and trade George Kirby to Texas for Josh Jung and Chase Silseth. We finish with payroll after the moves, the new defense, both Opening Day lineups (vs. righties and vs. lefties), the rotation and bullpen, and how many wins this team really is.

Do you make the Kirby trade? Tell me in the comments.
