With the PGA Tour returning to Quail Hollow this week and the PGA Championship right around the corner, we're throwing it back to one of our favorite builds.
Last year, Scottie Scheffler put a TaylorMade 7-Wood in the bag at Quail Hollow and won the PGA Championship with it. We took the exact specs he played and built our own version — and it's one of the coolest things we've ever put together.
Here's what that build looked like:
📐 Loft: 20°
📐 Lie: 60°
🔩 Shaft: Ventus Black 9X
✂️ Tipping: 2"
📏 Length: 41 3/8" Cut
⚖️ Swingweight: D4
🖐️ Grip: Tour Velvet Rib 58 — 6 wraps of double sided tape
We didn't build the one he used. But we built one just like it. And the specs don't lie.
The best player in the world isn't leaving distance gaps in his bag. The question is — are you?
