Jim Nantz Shares an Incredible Story About Mike Ditka

Jim Nantz shares an incredible story about legendary NFL coach and broadcaster Mike Ditka, revealing a side of Coach Ditka that went far beyond his tough-guy reputation.
While working together on The NFL Today, Nantz noticed that Ditka carried nothing but $100 bills—and used them everywhere, from buying drinks and tipping restaurant staff to helping people on the street. When Nantz finally asked him why he never bothered getting change, Ditka explained his philosophy and revealed that he budgeted $100,000 each NFL season for his weekly trips to New York.
But this conversation is about more than money. Kevin Clark shares a personal memory of meeting Ditka as a child in Chicago, when the legendary coach went out of his way to take a photo with him and his father rather than get caught up in the autograph-seeking crowd. The story leads to a touching reflection on how memories of loved ones can resurface in unexpected ways and stay with us for a lifetime.
From Ditka's larger-than-life personality to his generosity and the lasting impact he had on others, this is a memorable look at one of football's most unforgettable figures.
