In Winston-Salem, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons improved to 5-0 on the season as they won a hard-fought game against the NC Central Eagles, 68-65. Holding onto a 2-point lead with 5 seconds remaining, Raven Preston came up with a huge steal to secure the win. Grace Oliver once again had a stellar game for the Deacs, leading all scorers with 19 points on an extremely efficient 9-14 shooting from the floor. Oliver nearly finished with a double double as she added 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals in the win. Preston added 13 points, and Mary Carter chipped in 11 points for Wake. The Demon Deacons dominated the inside game, outscoring Central 40-22 in the paint.
