Episode 65: Mat Barzal Update | Tri-State Hockey Podcast

It's a clean sweep for the Tri-State! Jonny Lazarus, Mike Rupp, and Arthur Staple are back for Episode 65 of the Tri-State Hockey Podcast, breaking down wins for the New York Islanders, New Jersey Devils, and New York Rangers.

The biggest story on Long Island surrounds Mathew Barzal's injury and uncertain return timeline. The guys react to comments from Islanders GM Mathieu Darche, discuss whether there's a disconnect between Barzal and the organization, and examine the Islanders' strong play under Peter DeBoer. Plus, could Simon Holmstrom become a trade chip in a blockbuster deal?

In New Jersey, the Devils deliver one of their most impressive performances of the season against the Colorado Avalanche, but is Jack Hughes trying to do too much? The guys break down the Devils' defensive improvements, Jack's slow offensive start, and what it will take for New Jersey to become a legitimate Stanley Cup contender.

Finally, the New York Rangers continue building momentum under Mike Sullivan! The guys discuss J.T. Miller's impact, the Rangers' improved defensive structure, their turnaround at Madison Square Garden, and whether Luke Glendening is the right depth addition.
