Virginia Tech vs. Duke Game Highlights | 2026 ACC Softball
General Sports
Virginia Tech vs. Duke: For the first time since 2012, the Virginia Tech Hokies are heading to the ACC Softball Championship game. The third-seeded Hokies defeated the second-seeded Blue Devils, 5-0. The only other time that Duke has ever been shut out in an ACC Tournament game was also against Virginia Tech in 2018. All of Virginia Tech's runs came via the home run. Michelle Chatfeild, Nora Abromavage, and Rachel Castine each hit a solo home run, and Kylie Aldrige hit a 2-run home run in the seventh inning. ACC Freshman of the Year Bree Carrico pitched 5.2 innings of scoreless softball, giving up just three hits while striking out four. Emma Mazzarone came in to the game in relief and got the final four outs of the game. Virginia Tech will take on top-seeded Florida State in the championship game.
