Rabobank had the strongest complete team at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad 2009 but they failed to make the most of it, despite getting FOUR of their riders into a break on the ascent of the Taaienberg with 55 km left to go. They later got one of their riders Sebastian Langeveld into a break with Heinrich Haussler but for some reason their other riders in the peloton attack on multiple occasions (such as Flecha and Nuyens) despite having their teammate in the break. This resulted in a more concerted chase which ate into the time gap of Haussler and Langeveld.
