Vietnam responded with tenacious defense, counterattacks, and blocks, scoring points and taking the lead at 7-8. The match became a back-and-forth battle for side-outs in the middle of the set, and it was a close contest at 12-12, but Japan extended their lead to 17-13 with a second service ace from Miyabe and two consecutive service aces from Misora ​​Akimoto. Towards the end of the set, Vietnam mounted a comeback, and after a counterattack from a rally, they took the lead at 23-24, prompting Japan to call a timeout. In a difficult situation, Ishikawa scored from the left to make it 25-23, and Japan won the close match and took the first set.

The second set began with a back-and-forth battle, but after being tied at 5-5, Japan took an 8-5 lead thanks to a quick attack by Nichika Yamada and a series of errors by Vietnam. Maki Yamaguchi's tenacious blocks extended the lead to 11-6, and Hinata Shigehara scored after a defensive play by Akimoto to make it 17-11. Further quick attacks and blocks by Yamaguchi gave Japan a big lead of 22-14, and Yamaguchi finished with a quick attack to make it 25-17. Japan won the second set as well.

In the third set, Akimoto, who was in good form, scored an attack right from the start to make it 5-1, and Yamaguchi's quick attack and service ace further extended the lead to 8-3. Vietnam responded with consecutive points from counterattacks from defense, and Japan briefly took the lead at 9-10. Yamaguchi's block put Japan back in the lead at 15-11, and Sato Yoshino's block made it 19-13. Kitamado Ayane scored from the left to make it 24-20 and give Japan match point, and finally Akimoto scored with an attack from the right to win the third set 25-21, giving Japan a straight-sets victory of 3-0.
