Michael Brennan won the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield, his second PGA Tour title, closing with five straight birdies to reach the FedExCup Playoffs. But the story golf parents will care about is his upbringing.
Both parents played golf, and in kindergarten he said his dream job was going pro. His mother Shannon went on to become a certified USGA rules official who quizzed the family on the rules growing up. This past January, Brennan called a penalty on himself and was disqualified from a tournament. On Sunday it was his mom who met him on the 18th green.
