Off-Season Daily Routine to build On-Ice Confidence
Here’s the summary of the daily routine I cover in this video to build confidence in the off-season:
1. Focus - Start the day with any form of guided meditation for 10 minutes
Why? Because if you want to build confidence it requires you can influence the thoughts that run through your mind.
Which you are only able to do, if you can OBSERVE your thoughts and slowly learn to decrease their effect on you.
2. Program - Pick one skill or play you want to improve before any game or practice. Rehearse it mentally using visualisation.
If you’re able to clearly picture every detail and do multiple reps of mentally rehearsing how you want to play, the more likely you’ll pull off the skill in practice and games.
3. Empty - At the end of the day reflect on these three things:
A) One thing you did well
B) One thing you learned
C) One thing you want to improve tomorrow
This way you’re able to train with intention every week and not just waste your energy doing random drills that don’t build your game.
