'I was actually quite surprised he kept his job’
Southampton manager Tonda Eckert has been handed a six-week suspended sentence that comes into effect in June 2028. The manager, who was found guilty of spying on Middlesborough, Oxford United and Ipswich Town training sessions, was also handed a £28,000 fine and the club were thrown out of last season’s playoffs and handed a four-point deduction this season.
