Julien Alfred secured victory in the women's 100-meter race at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, winning the first Olympic medal in the history of St. Lucia, a Caribbean island with a population of around 160,000. The favorite crossed the finish line in 10.72 seconds. Silver went to US athlete Sha'carri Richardson (10.87 seconds), while Melissa Jefferson secured the bronze medal with a time of 10.92 seconds.
