Klay Thompson’s former teammate, Draymond Green questions his fit with “Miami Heat culture”

In this episode of Miami Heat Talk, we have to talk about some interesting comments from Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green regarding his former teammate Klay Thompson and his move to the Miami Heat!

Draymond Green recently discussed Klay joining Miami and questioned whether Klay will truly fit into “Heat Culture.” Draymond made it clear that he loves the move for Klay and believes Miami is a great situation for his former Warriors teammate — but he also admitted that he doesn’t know how Klay’s personality and way of doing things will mesh with the Heat.

Draymond specifically pointed out that Klay “moves to the beat of his own drum” and questioned how that will work within Miami’s demanding culture.

That got me thinking…

Klay is a four-time NBA champion, five-time All-Star and one of the greatest shooters in NBA history. Miami just added him to a roster featuring Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo, giving the Heat another elite perimeter weapon and someone who can provide much-needed spacing.

And while Draymond’s comments came across as a little condescending at times, especially when discussing whether Klay can handle Heat Culture, I also think it’s important to recognize that Draymond was clearly supporting Klay throughout his comments.
