U.S. Indoor Champ Charity Hufnagel on High Jump Success, Injury Comeback & Growth
Running
2026 U.S. Indoor High Jump Champion Charity Hufnagel joins Journey to Gold Zone Podcast in Torun, Poland to share the path behind her rise in the high jump. With a multi-event background, she explains how training across disciplines built the fitness and foundation that now powers her success in a single event.
Hufnagel reflects on winning her first outdoor national title at the 2024 Olympic Trials, after placing seventh in the heptathlon at the NCAA Championships that same year. She opens up about the adversity she experienced when she found out she was competing through a torn labrum and undergoing surgery before her first professional season.
Now training in Louisville, Hufnagel shares what it's been like becoming a true student of the high jump and building confidence on the biggest stages.
This episode also features Charity and Erik trying Polish Jeźyki cookies and giving their review.
