The Best Hour of Spurs’ Season, Broken Down by a Pro Coach | A Coach’s View

Spurs dominated Man United for almost an hour, went down to ten men, and still came away from Old Trafford with a late Solanke equaliser. So why isn’t A Licence coach JJ smiling? He breaks down what went right, including Conor Gallagher’s man-of-the-match performance, the pressing that pinned United back, and the midfield rotations between Tonali, Gallagher and Bergvall. He also explains what still needs fixing: chances that should have killed the game, Van Hecke being dragged out wide and left one against one, and the moment Savio’s extra touch cost Kudus an almost certain goal.

Plus the line-up debate (load management, Bergvall over Bentancur, Solanke over Marmoush), why Mateus Fernandes isn’t starting and why JJ doesn’t see that as controversial, how the Bentancur red card started, and whether giving Solanke the captain’s armband was a gamble that paid off.
