What £200m Actually Bought Spurs | The Analyst
Spurs have spent £200m on a new midfield — Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes. Analyst Enya Collins joins Jim to break down exactly what Tottenham have bought: the scatter graph that shows how far this midfield has come, why the raw numbers undersell Fernandes, the goal threat hiding in Tonali's data, and which of the two Enya rates more.
New to the data? Progressive passes and carries are passes or dribbles that move the ball meaningfully towards the opponent's goal. xG (expected goals) measures the quality of chances a player gets. Percentiles compare a player with others in the same position — 90th percentile means better than 90% of them.
