The Lausanne Diamond League delivered a fine but underwhelming and telling night of racing. Emmanuel Wanyonyi reasserted his dominance in the men's 800, holding off Brandon Miller (1:42.55) as Marco Arop faded, while Miller's American record bid fell short.
In the women's 800, Audrey Werro held on for the win but showed signs of fatigue, while Femke Broeders-Bol ran a Dutch record 1:55.41, sparking fierce debate about whether she can realistically threaten the world record. Americans went 2-3-4 in the men's 5000 behind Bahrain's Balew, with Parker Wolfe's boxed-in finish fueling talk of a changing of the guard over Grant Fisher.
