Burrow delivered one of the most statistically impressive performances of his career, completing 38 of 48 passes for 462 yards and five touchdowns while adding the game-winning nine-yard rushing touchdown in overtime. But his afternoon was far from perfect. Burrow also threw three interceptions, all to Titans safety Amani Hooker, helping Tennessee remain competitive throughout the game.
The Bengals found themselves trailing 13-0 in the first quarter for the second consecutive game, raising fresh concerns about Cincinnati's slow starts. Tony Pollard gashed the Bengals defense for a 40-yard touchdown run and finished with 117 rushing yards and two scores.
Cincinnati eventually found its offensive rhythm behind Burrow and his star receivers. Tee Higgins delivered a monster performance with 10 receptions for 155 yards and two touchdowns, including the crucial 18-yard score that tied the game at 36 with 1:17 remaining in regulation. Ja'Marr Chase added 11 catches for 141 yards and a touchdown, while Mike Gesicki contributed a key fourth-quarter touchdown reception.
Tennessee quarterback Cam Ward also enjoyed a career afternoon, throwing for 304 yards and two touchdowns. The Titans repeatedly exposed Cincinnati's defense, piling up 440 total yards and forcing the Bengals into a shootout that few anticipated entering Sunday.
After forcing overtime, Cincinnati finally delivered the decisive blow. Burrow marched the Bengals downfield before keeping the football himself for a nine-yard touchdown run. The defense then held Tennessee on fourth down to secure the victory.
The Bengals have now won three consecutive games, but Sunday's performance raises serious questions about their consistency, defensive execution, and ability to put away inferior opponents.
On today's Chatterbox Bengals postgame show, we're breaking down Burrow's spectacular but mistake-filled afternoon, another concerning defensive performance, the continued dominance of Chase and Higgins, and whether this Bengals team is truly playing like an AFC contender.
