Jrue Holiday Could Be the FINAL Piece to Miami’s Championship Puzzle!

Could Jrue Holiday be the perfect final piece for the Miami Heat?!

With Portland now loaded in the backcourt with Damian Lillard, Ja Morant, Scoot Henderson and Jrue Holiday, something eventually has to give. Holiday came off the bench in Portland’s preseason opener against Golden State, a major change for a player who has been a full-time starter for most of his career.

And that’s where the Miami Heat come into the conversation.

Jrue Holiday is still an extremely valuable veteran. Last season with Portland, he averaged 16.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game, while shooting 45.1% from the field and 37.8% from three-point range. He’s also a two-time NBA champion and six-time All-Defensive Team selection.

But what makes Holiday especially interesting for Miami isn’t necessarily his scoring.

It’s his defense, toughness, veteran leadership, basketball IQ, ability to handle the ball, playoff experience and willingness to make winning plays without needing to dominate the offense.

Imagine adding Jrue Holiday as the ninth man to this Miami Heat rotation:

🔥 Giannis Antetokounmpo
🔥 Bam Adebayo
🔥 Andrew Wiggins
🔥 Klay Thompson
🔥 Davion Mitchell

And coming off the bench:

🔥 Pelle Larsson
🔥 Bobby Portis
🔥 Tim Hardaway Jr.
🔥 Jrue Holiday

That’s an absolutely loaded rotation.

Holiday wouldn’t have to come to Miami and be the guy. He wouldn’t have to average 20 points. He could focus on defending opposing guards, making the right pass, knocking down open threes, running the offense when needed and bringing championship experience to a team trying to win another NBA title.

The BIG question is whether Portland eventually decides it has simply accumulated too many guards and whether Holiday would want to spend the season in a reduced role.

Could Jrue Holiday eventually become a buyout candidate?

And if he does…

Should the Miami Heat be FIRST in line?

That’s what we’re talking about in today’s episode of Miami Heat Talk!

What do YOU think, Heat Nation? Would you add Jrue Holiday to this roster?
