Stephanie Thomas is Connecticut’s 75th Secretary of the State and the first Black person elected to the office.

A longtime public servant, small business owner, and advocate for civic engagement, Secretary Thomas has dedicated her career to strengthening communities and making government more accessible to everyone.

Since taking office in 2023, she has championed more accessible and secure elections, supported Connecticut’s business community, and worked to inspire people of all ages to become more engaged in civic life.

A passionate, collaborative leader, Secretary Thomas believes that every voice matters—and that meaningful change begins when people choose to get involved.
