108 competitive appearances, five goals, DFB-Pokal winner, and Supercup champion – but above all, a wonderful human being and a selfless sportsman. When we signed Xaver in the summer of 2022, we struck absolute gold.
Even after his final home game for the Rote Bullen against St. Pauli, where his opening goal paved the way for the victory, his focus remained entirely on the bigger picture: "The most important thing was that we won today and secured Champions League football. That's why I’m absolutely delighted."
Looking back at the season finale, Xaver reflects: "It’s been a beautiful final stretch, a beautiful farewell match, a beautiful last home game – it just felt very fitting on that day."
Saying his goodbyes, he adds: "I want to say thank you for four wonderful years. Thank you to the fans – the atmosphere in the stadium was always incredible. Together, we experienced great nights, celebrated amazing Champions League evenings, and won trophies. And even on the less successful days, we always felt the backing of the fans – that is truly unique."
